The annual celebration of Book Character Day was an event that brought together a plethora of literary icons from different genres and eras.

一年一度的“图书人物日”汇集了来自不同时代和流派的众多文学人物。

It was a day when both students and teachers donned the attire of some of their most admired book characters, promoting the importance of literacy.

This event, coupled with the biannual Book Fair, served as a catalyst to inspire children to develop a love for reading, which is an essential foundation for academic success.

Books have the power to inspire and transport readers to different worlds and times.

It provided an opportunity for everyone to explore the world of literature in a fun and engaging way.

By dressing up as their favourite book character, students and teachers fully immersed themselves in the story and brought it to life, getting the opportunity to walk a mile in their favourite character’s ‘shoes’.

Students had the opportunity to ‘meet’ Shakespeare, Greg (Diary of a Wimpy Kid), Lunzi & Huangche, Alice from Wonderland, Little Mr. Men & Little Misses, Ladybug Girl, Willy Wonka, soldiers, Mother Earth, the Sleeping Bunny, Hansel, a rainbow, NeZha, Matilda, polar bears and scientists, to name a few.

Book Character Day reminded people of the importance of reading. It encouraged people to pick up a book and delve into the world of words and imagination. Reading was an essential skill that everyone should have, and ‘living’ in the realm of characters helped to promote and inspire a love of reading.
