　　斯蒂文斯理工学院在微生物、纳米电子技术、无线通信、环境科学以及工程、材料科学和工程、技术治理等领域的教学科研都处于领先地位。尤其是电信管理专业在美国名列前茅。史蒂文斯工程专业本科毕业生深造获得博士学位的比例仅低于麻省理工和加州理工，名列全美第三，是一所具有雄厚的教学和科研实力的理工学院。

　　2010年斯蒂文斯理工学院在华盛顿特区的罗纳德·里根大厦开放了新的校区以提供技术管理和系统工程等方面的教育。学院当前着力于商业与技术的结合以使学生不仅获得创造的技能，并且获得领导和管理项目的能力。

 

　　斯蒂文斯理工学院被公认最好的学科是工程学、理学和技术管理。

 

　　史蒂文斯理工学院全校将近有70%的学生 是攻读工程科系，11%攻读计算器及计算机科学，10%攻读自然科学。学院设有"合作课程"，即校企合作教学，学生要花五年才能毕业，但在五年期间，学生会到IBM以及General Foods等企业实习三至五个学期不等。学校下设有四大学院:人文学院、工程与科学学院、系统与企业学院、技术管理学院。

　　斯蒂文斯理工学院成立于1870年，是一所四年制私立大学，因学生人数不多，在美国来讲属于小型的大学，但其在师资及排名方面都是不容忽视的。
