In this workshop, we will look into practical strategies that parents can use and practice with their children to help build reading comprehension skills. We will explore different hands-on activities and online resources to empower parents in helping their children become competent readers. Reading can be fun, engaging, and interactive! Come and join us and we will show you how. 

Montalla老师在菲律宾、印度尼西亚、中国北部、俄罗斯和中国东南部有18年的教学经验。她对IB课程非常了解，并与IB-PYP小学项目合作13年。她是IB教育网的一员，是PYP培训官、申报学校资料审阅员和学校来访团队成员。她热爱阅读，希望我们的学生能够在家庭和学校的指导和支持下，培养对阅读的热爱。她目前是TWIS小学项目协调员。 

Ms. Montalla has 18 years teaching experience in the Philippines, Indonesia, Northern China, Russia, and now in South-East China.  She is very knowledgeable about the IB and has been working with the IB-PYP programme for 13 years. She is part of the IB Educators Network as a PYP workshop leader, reader, and school visiting team member. She loves reading and hopes our students will be able to develop the love for reading with guidance and support from family and school. She is coordinating the Primary Years Programme at TWIS.

把学生送进往世界各地的大学是我们学校TWIS的目标之一。申请大学是一个令人兴奋的经历，让学生有机会深入了解自己，和他们日后想追求的职业。本简报概述了大学申请的时间表，并介绍主流升学国家和高等教育的学术体系。我们将回应您们的疑问，解释TWIS会如何为家长学生们在大学申请过程中得到有效又有益的帮助。 

One of the major goals of TWIS is for our students to gain admission into colleges and universities all over the world. Applying to colleges and universities is an exciting experience as it gives students the chance to look at who they are and what they might want to pursue as a career. This presentation gives an overview at the timeline of university application, as well as introduce the major countries and academic systems for secondary education. We will answer questions that you may have on how TWIS can make the college application process effective and rewarding for families. 

Gaillard老师拥有法国里昂的学士和硕士学位。他还是一名有认可资格的法语和西班牙语教师，在担任语言教师、科主任、协调员和职业顾问等方面有20多年的工作经验。他非常享受以往在法国、菲律宾、中国北部、日本以及最近在阿曼的教学经历。他是IB-DP语言B考官，也曾是在加地夫推出IB语言B评估软件团队的一员。他加入TWIS担任法语B老师和IB DP高中文凭协调员。 

Mr. Gaillard has a Bachelor’s degree and a Master’s degree from Lyon, France. He is a licensed teacher of French and Spanish. Mr. Gaillard has over 20 years of experience working in various capacities as a language teacher, head of department, coordinator and career advisor. He has greatly enjoyed teaching in France, the Philippines, northern China, Japan and most recently in Oman. He is a team leader of IB DP Language B examiners, and was part of the team that launched the IB’s Language B assessment software in Cardiff. Mr. Gaillard joins TWIS as French B teacher and IB Diploma Coordinator.

An important part of a teacher’s role is to work with parents to provide the best possible outcomes for students. With technology playing a big role in education and in daily life, parents start to ask how they can keep their children and young people safe online while ensuring technology use is positive and purposeful. In this mini-workshop, we will tackle different strategies in dealing with digital citizenship and online safety for your children. 

Montalla 老师在过去的13年一直在亚洲和欧洲的国际学校任教。他教授过MYP初中课程-设计与技术、IBDP 高中课程-全球信息科技和PYP 小学课程-信息通信科技。他是微软合作伙伴学习的培训师，这包括帮助教师如何在课堂上融入有效的科技。他从事教育前是戴尔电脑公司的高级培训分析师。凭借他在信息技术和教学方面的丰富经验，本次演讲可以帮助家长通过评估网络威胁的危险，认识让孩子安全、负责任地使用科技的方法。

 Mr. Montalla has been teaching in international schools for the past 13 years in Asia and Europe. He has taught MYP Design and Technology,  IBDP ITGS and PYP ICT. Mr. Montalla is a trainer for Microsoft Partners in Learning, which involves helping teachers on how to incorporate effective technology in the classroom. He started out as a Senior Training Analyst for Dell Computers. With his diverse experience with IT and teaching,  this presentation can help parents find ways to make their children use technology safely and responsibly by assessing dangers to online threat.

在此次家长学院日上，我们会简单介绍学校的中文课程。东华文泽学校追求成为IB一贯制学校，所以全部课程，包括中文课，都是采用IB的教学模式。除了开设不同的中文课程给中文为母语或非母语的学生外，IB的中文课程还注重于探究学习，培养学生的思辨能力和沟通能力。力求通过各种多样化的课堂活动，比如，课堂讨论，课堂辩论，演讲等，令学生学会如何学习。我们以把学生培养成“终身学习者”为目标。希望了解关于TWIS的中文课程？请于家长学院日参加我们的工作坊。 

On Parent University Day, we will give a brief introduction to the Chinese language courses of the school. TWIS is aspiring to be an IB continuum school, so all the courses, including Chinese course, follows the IB programme models. In addition to learning the Chinese language as mother tongue and additional language, the IB Chinese program focuses on inquiry learning as well as developing students' critical thinking skills and communication skills. We train students to ‘learn how to learn’ through various classroom activities such as group discussion, class debate and public speaking. 冯薇薇老师拥有英国语言文学学士、教育学专业学士及普通话教育专业硕士。冯薇薇拥有20年国际学校中文教学的经验,曾任香港英基协会的资深中文老师，现任广东东莞东华文泽学校中文部主任。除此之外，冯薇薇还任IBDP中文考官，IBDP中文教师培训官。

Ms. Mei Mei Fung (Vivienne Fung) acquired B.A.in English Language and Literature, B.Ed. in Education and M.A.in Chinese Education. With over 20 years of teaching experience, Ms Fung used to teach IB Chinese and IGCSE Chinese in the English Schools Foundation, Hong Kong. She is now teaching in Tungwah Wenzel International School in China as Head of Chinese. Apart from teaching in schools, Ms Fung is also an IB DP examiner and workshop leader.
