Transdisciplinary Learning in the PYP

When we think about our children's education, we always look for the latest and best teaching philosophies. Yet, understanding how 21st world education and transdisciplinary learning is shaping our future through education remains a responsibility of each one of us as parents and educators. In this workshop you will learn how integrated learning is done inside and outside of the classroom. As you explore the transdisciplinarity in the PYP, you will become an important member of our IB learning community and you will be able to best support your child throughout their learning path.

Escudero老师从事小学教育已有10年，有实践不同的教学法的经验，如：卡尔弗特教育、沃尔多夫斯坦纳、蒙特梭利和IB，这些都是她热爱的领域。Escudero老师拥有美国新泽西州国际研究和现代语言学士学位。凭借多年的教学经验，她在各种IB工作坊中不断丰富自己的教学理念，并获得如TESOL和TEFL等认证。Escudero老师在摩洛哥、西班牙、委内瑞拉、埃及和中国等地有过教学经验，她具有很丰富的国际视野。

Ms. Escudero has been teaching primary students for 10 years implementing different pedagogies like Calvert Education, Waldorf Steiner, Montessori and ultimately IB, where she has found her passion. Ms. Escudero holds a bachelor’s degree in International Studies and Modern Language from New Jersey, USA. Along with her years of experience, she continues to enrich her teaching philosophies throughout various IB workshops and certifications obtained like TESOL and TEFL amongst others. Ms. Escudero has gained a strong sense of international－mindedness after teaching in Morocco, Spain, Venezuela, Egypt and China.

Why is everybody talking about the IB? Why are the current movers, shakers and social changers IB graduates? How did their IB education prepare them for the opportunities and challenges of the 21st century?

In this workshop, you will get to know and understand the nature of the IB Diploma Programme. You will explore the reasons why the IB is considered the leading end of high school exam, and how it challenges students to reach their full potential.

Gaillard老师是TWIS的IB协调员。他在法国里昂获得学士和硕士学位。Gaillard老师是人文、法语和西班牙语的执业教师，拥有超过20年的IB教师、部门主管、协调员和职业顾问的工作经验。他在IB中担任考官、外部审核官和团队领导。Gaillard老师曾经在法国、菲律宾、中国北部、日本、泰国和阿曼授课。现在，他享受着东莞宜人的天气。

Mr. Gaillard is the IB coordinator at TWIS. He has earned his bachelor’s and a master’s degree from Lyon, France. Mr. Gaillard is a licensed teacher of humanities, French and Spanish, and has over 20 years of experience working in various capacities as an IB teacher, head of department, coordinator and career advisor. He has an active role in the IB as examiner, moderator and team leader. Mr Gaillard has greatly enjoyed teaching in France, the Philippines, northern China, Japan, Thailand and Oman. He is enjoying the weather in Dongguan.

Socio- Emotional Learning in IB: Why It Is Important

In this workshop, parents will know and understand what social-emotional learning (SEL) is, and how it can help students to achieve their maximum potential of personal success. We will begin by exploring mindfulness, and its benefits. Parents will have a better understanding of their children by knowing how the brain works, and the role of social relationships in their growth and development.

Carmen老师有8年的在国际学校和医院担任心理咨询师的从业经历。她在法国波尔多维克多•赛格兰大学的心理学专业获得学士学位，目前她正在为她的心理学硕士学位做准备。Carmen老师拥有中学心理健康教育教师资格证。她受过认知行为疗法（CBT）和焦点解决短程治疗（SFBT）等心理咨询技术的专业训练。近期Carmen老师也完成了有关社会情感学习的IB培训。

Ms. Wu has been working as a  counselor for eight years in international schools and hospitals. She obtained her bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the Victor Segalen University in Bordeaux , France. She is currently preparing for her master's degree in psychology. Ms. Wu is a licensed teacher in education of psychological health in secondary schools. She is trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy(CBT )counseling skills and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy ( SFBT ) counseling skills. Ms. Wu has recently completed her IB training on socio-emotional learning.

When you were a student, did you spend your mornings running around in the sports field? Have you thought of its effect on your motivation and interest to stay fit as an adult? What if there are more engaging and meaningful ways to learn about physical and health education at an early age?

In this workshop, you will be able to try out different strategies that our students learn in order to develop a lifelong interest to stay healthy, active and strong.

从孩提时代起，Tendero老师就迷上了体育。他先是当了运动员，后来又当了教练和教师。他在西班牙卡斯蒂利亚拉曼查大学获得了体育教学学位。他还获得了西班牙足协的欧足联职业教练资格，并在皇家马德里基金会、曼彻斯特城和广州恒大担任了7年的足球教练。在过去的三年里，他一直在中国担任国际学校的体育教师。他的另一个爱好是游泳，他也是西班牙游泳联合会的认证游泳教练。Tendero老师最近完成了实施中学体育和健康教育课程的IB培训。

Mr. Tendero has been hooked to sports since he was a child, first as a player and then as a coach and teacher. He earned his degree in teaching physical education at the University of Castilla La Mancha in Spain. He also obtained accreditation as a UEFA Pro coach by the Spanish Soccer Federation and worked as a soccer coach for seven years in La Fundacion del Real Madrid, Manchester City and Guangzhou Hengda Evergrande. Mr. Tendero has been working for the last three years as an international school PE teacher in China. Another passion of his is swimming, for which he is also a certified swimming coach with the Spanish Swimming Federation. Mr. Tendero has recently completed his IB training in Implementing the MYP Physical and Health Education curriculum.
