在中国文化中培养孩子的国际意识

金秋十月，我们迎来了祖国的72岁生日。因为希望学生在国庆期间进行有意义的家庭学习，所以每位斐特思公学小学部的学生都领到了与中国相关、与他们的探究单元（UOI）学习相关的家庭学习项目。

假后返校，我们组织了“中国周”活动，进一步加深学生对中国的认识和理解，以及加深认识独一无二的中国艺术文化。这些项目如下：

一年级的孩子们展示与探究单元相关内容：游戏及其规则。孩子们学习了规则与规章制度如何组织生活，因此他们设计或记录了一款以中国元素为主题的游戏。

二年级的孩子们展示了由在中国发现的垃圾材料所制成的工艺品，并把这些作品带到日常生活中来使用。

三年级的孩子们展示了关于中国国庆日的海报，他们展示了他们的探究结果，并分享了国庆日的来历及中国人民从这一天获得了哪些权利和责任等相关信息。

四年级的孩子们则发表了关于中国科技的主题演讲，学生可以选择使用技术设备记录中国的风景名胜，或者调查在探究课上选择研究的科学技术在中国取得了怎样的成就。

五年级的孩子们展示了京剧脸谱所代表的中国艺术，学生绘制京剧脸谱，写下每个脸谱的设计理念，并分享了每种颜色所代表的意义。

在中国周，小学部的孩子们不仅穿上了中国传统服饰：

还体验了各种中国传统文化活动：

提供如踩高跷、投壶、抽陀螺和滚轮等中国传统游戏，让学生体验过去人们所玩的游戏。

孩子们体验了民族舞蹈，中国功夫等。

在老师的安排下，配对阅读小伙伴读中国神话故事

除此之外，孩子们还在中国周体验了国画和剪纸、传统中式早餐以及欣赏各个年级的中国主题展览。

所有的这些体验都是为了培养IB学习方法（ATL），其中包括思维、研究、沟通、社交和自我管理技能，学生的这些技能在FCG的小学课堂内外得到高度的提升。

随着时间的推移，小学生将获得ATL技能，这将使得他们在所有的学术和非学术科目中的学习习惯得到提升。

The beginning of October brings a special moment for all of us who live in China as we celebrate her 72nd birthday. As we wanted the students to engage in meaningful home learning during the National Holidays, FCG’s primary school students were assigned home learning project related to China and their Units of Inquiry (UOI) learning. Upon our return from the holidays , we organised a China Week Event to further extend the students’ knowledge and understanding of China as a country as well as the uniqueness of Chinese Art Culture. These projects are as follows:

Students learnt about how rules and regulation organise their lives and were assigned the task of creating or writing about a Chinese-Themed Game.

The students created and exhibited an array of artifacts they find in the recycling box and created items they can use.

They presented their findings and shared information about the origins of this day and what rights and responsibilities do the people in China gain from this day.

Students have the choice to use technology to record scenic places in China or investigate the achievements made by China about their chosen technology in UOI.

students painted masks and wrote about the designs of each mask and share the significance of what each colour represents.

In China Week, students dress in Chinese traditional clothes.

Students also experienced the following traditional activities：

China Traditional Games such as stilt walking, touhu, spinning tops and rolling wheel was provided for the student experience the games were played in the past.

What is more, students learn Chinese Painting and Chinese Paper Cutting，ate Chinese Traditional Foods for Breakfast and enjoy China Theme Exhibition for all grade levels. 

The provision of these experiences are all geared towards cultivating the IB approaches to learning (ATL) which includes, thinking, research, communication, social and self-management skills that are highly promoted within and beyond FCG’s primary classrooms.

As the year progresses, primary students will acquire ATL skills which will enhance their learning habits across all academic and non-academic subjects.
