MYP培训|终身学习,遇到更好的自己

终身学习一直是IB倡导的教育教学理念之一。而参与IB的官方培训就是教师成为终身学习者的途径之一。


Lifelong learning has always been one of the education and teaching philosophies advocated by the IB program. Participating in official IB training is one of the ways for MYP teachers to become lifelong learners.





近期,我校邀请IB资深培训官伍春兰老师为我校中学部教师进行为期两天的IB中学项目工作坊。


ASJ invited senior IB trainer Vera Wu to hold a two-day IB MYP workshop for our secondary teachers in recent days.


在两天的培训中,伍老师引导并与老师们共同分享IB的教学使命,探讨MYP教学最具特色的探究环节、概念驱动,和老师们共同理解并深入研讨单元教学的设计思路等内容。工作坊中,老师积极分享、探讨、交流、合作,获益匪浅。

During the two-day training, Ms. Wu guided and shared with the teachers the mission of IB program, elaborated on most characteristic aspects of MYP teaching - inquiry-based and concept-driven, and worked with the teachers to understand and discuss in depth the ideas of creating an unit plan. At the same time, teachers actively shared, discussed, exchanged and cooperated with other, and each of them benefited greatly from the workshop.



第一天的培训中,伍老师首先用4 corners的活动对教师的已有教学经验进行了解,同时也进一步了解了大家的培训期待:概念理解、探究教学法、总结性评估作业的设计、国际情怀等这些IB教学中的关键元素都是老师们对本次培训的共同期待。

On the first day of the training, Ms. Wu first used the “4 Corners” activity to get to know the teaching experience the teachers have accumulated and also to learn more about their expectations for the training. It turned out that IB philosophy, inquiry-based teaching and learning, design of summative assessment tasks, and international sensibility and other key elements in IB teaching are the teachers’ common expectations for this training.


 接下来,伍老师对MYP项目框架做了清晰的阐述,同时强调作为一名IB工作者我们更要肩负培养学生国际情怀的使命,以帮助他们发展并践行IB的使命。


Next, Ms. Wu gave a clear explanation on the framework of the MYP program and stressed that as IB practitioners we have to take on the mission of cultivating students’ international sensibilities in order to help them develop and practice the IB mission.



下午的培训中,伍老师带领老师们从概念和事实的区分入手,让老师们进一步感受内容驱动的课程与概念驱动的课程的区别。接着老师们结合MYP 16个重大概念和学科相关概念,对本学科的单元计划进行了设计,并最终形成了真实情景下的概念性理解。

In the afternoon, Ms. Wu started the training with illustrating the distinction between concepts and facts and led the teachers toward having a clearer understanding of the difference between a content-driven curriculum and a concept-driven one. The teachers then, under Ms. Wu’s guidance of incorporating the 16 key concepts of MYP and related concepts, designed unit plans for their subjects and in the end developed their conceptual understanding based on authentic contexts.



 第二天的培训中伍老师重点和老师探讨了探究教学这一中学项目特色。从探究教学的意义到探究教学的具体操作步骤。在此过程中,伍老师向教师们展示了什么样的问题才是一个好的探究问题?一个好的探究性问题具备怎么的特征?详细的讲解,使老师们不仅从理论上明确了探究教学进行的必要性和重要性,同时也掌握了一定的操作技巧。

On the second day of the training, Ms. Wu focused on discussing with teachers the most distinct feature of the middle school program - inquiry teaching, including rich content from the meaning to the specific steps of inquiry teaching. In the process, Ms. Wu showed the teachers what kind of question is a good inquiry question and what characteristics a good inquiry question should possess? Ms. Wu’s detailed explanation made the teachers not only grasp the necessity and importance of inquiry teaching in theory, but also master certain practical skills.


 ATL的环节,伍老师重点分享了ATL在整个MYP教学中的重要性,如何结合单元教学目标选择恰当的技能。在100多条ATL技能中,是否选择的ATL越多越好?还是在一个单元中选择的ATL skills是有限的?为什么?ATL mapping可以怎样更好的支持老师们的教学,给予教师更好的帮助。

In the part of ATL(Approaches to Learning), Ms. Wu focused on sharing the importance of ATL in the entire MYP teaching, and how to select appropriate skills based on the unit teaching objectives. Among the more than 100 ATL skills, is it better to choose more ATL skills? Or is there a limit to the number of selected ATL skills in a unit? And why? How can ATL mapping better support teachers’ teaching and give them better assistance.


两天的工作坊结束后,老师们纷纷感概IB的课堂像一个大的容器有许许多多的信息等着我们去探究,去践行,而未来的路上不仅我们的学生要成为终身学习者,我们的教师也要首先且必须是终身学习者。


After the two-day workshop, the teachers all felt that the IB classroom was like a big container with a lot of information waiting for us to explore and practice. And on the way to the future, not only our students will become life-long learners, but our teachers will be first and must be life-long learners.

做一个终生学习者。优秀的品质千千万,只有终身学习的品质最”难办”。我们的世界日新月异,惟有不断学习能让人保持常有常新。通过本次的MYP培训,我最大的收获就是坚定了做终身学习者的目标。在培训中,我学习到IB课程的教学理念,学习到各种有趣的课堂活动,学习到思维训练的重要性。总之,我受益颇丰。

本次的培训,收获很多,体会深刻,现简单做如下总结:一是要树立“以学生为本”的教育思想,而这也是IB教育理念的核心。二是要不断探索“Inquiry-based learning”的教学模式,改进自己教学方法。三是更加明确教学实践的具体操作。我通过这次培训,在如何制定Unit plan和Summative assessment两方面收获最大。特别是对重大概念、相关概念、全球背景、探究说明、探究问题(事实性问题、概念性问题、辩论性问题)、教学目标、内容、评估标准和评估细则的理解会进一步加深,对以后开展教学工作助力极大。

本次培训令我受益匪浅。首先,针对教育理念,IB提出使命宣言和十大培养目标,这是一个非常美好的愿景。培训中,我们对其中的关键词作讨论理解,也明白了教育理念其实影响着我们的行动,需要教育者以更包容、友爱的态度践行教育。其次,探究式学习一直是教育界的热点,但是处于应试教育大环境,做探究教学始终是步履艰辛。本次培训,我们对探究学习的形式、目标、意图都有了更多的了解,探究学习只是获得知识的其中一个途径,并不是传统认识中的“玩”,反而能够激发学习者的内在驱动力,主动去汲取知识。总之,本次培训让我对IB中许多抽象、生涩的内容都有了更清晰的理解,也更清楚如何将IB文件中的指导,落实到日常的教学中去。

This MYP training left a very deep impression on me, such as the application of multimedia, inquiry learning and the selection of evaluation mode. Teachers actively communicated and acquired a lot from mutual learning during the training. It provided a good opportunity for our teachers to further improve the ability of designing courses.

I had the privilege to participate in this week’s IB workshop of MYP department. Ms. Wu gave us a wonderful and productive seminar about the whole IB curriculum introduction. From the 10 profiles to unit planning, each of us received a newer and more comprehensive insight about this system. I feel really lucky to be able to use this opportunity to take a deeper and careful dive into the MYP IB curriculum, especially under the guidance of Ms. Wu.
