DSE|怎样选科，才能发挥出最大的优势？

DSE，全称香港中学文凭试（Diploma of Secondary Education)，也称香港高考。和国内高考类似，DSE是香港为应对“三三四教育改革”与国内大学接轨，于2012年建立的大学入学选拔考试。

DSE允许全球范围的学生报考，而且成绩不仅可以申请香港院校，同时也受英国、美国、澳大利亚、加拿大、新加坡、日本等多国大学及教育机构的认可。其中不乏牛津、剑桥这样的世界知名学府。

HKDSE考试成绩目前已被超过18个国家及地区，约300所高校认可，考生凭DSE考试成绩全球升学。其中港籍考生还可通过《内地高校招收香港中学文凭考试学生办法》即「免试招生计划」回到内地升学，截止到2021年12月，参与该计划的院校已增至129所，当中包括清华、北大、中大、厦大、武大、暨大等众多985/211的“双一流”大学。

DSE, the full name of the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education examination, also known as the Hong Kong University’s entrance examination.

Similar to Gaokao, DSE is a university entrance examination established in 2012 in Hong Kong in response to the "3-3-4 education reform" in line with domestic universities.

DSE allows students from all over the world to apply for the examination, and their grades can be applied for Hong Kong universities as well as some universities and educational institutions in the United Kingdom, the United States, Australia, Canada, Singapore, Japan and other countries. Among them, there are some world-famous universities such as Oxford and Cambridge.

HKDSE examination results have been recognized by more than 18 countries and regions within aound 300 universities. Candidates can pursue further studies around the world on the basis of their examination results. Among them, Hong Kong candidates can also return to the mainland for further study through the "Scheme for Admission of Hong Kong Students to Mainland Higher Education Institutions". By December 2021, the number of institutions participating in this scheme has increased to 129, including Tsinghua University, Peking University, Sun Yat-sen University, Xiamen University, Wuhan University, Jinan University and many other "Double-First Class" universities such as universities in “985”and “211” lists.

值得强调的是，DSE是全球唯一的、国际承认的、用中文作答的公开性国际考试。

DSE课程组合：

4个主修核心科目+2~3个选修科（20个选修科目）
修读科目合共不可多于8科，亦不应少于6科
语文与英文考核包括：听、说、读、写，以及校本评核

It is worth emphasizing that DSE is the only internationally recognized examination that could be done in Chinese.

DSE course portfolio:

4 core majors + 2 / 3 electives (20 electives).

The total number of subjects should not be more than 8 and not less than 6.

Chinese and English tests include listening, speaking, reading, writing, and school-based assessment.

根据大学的专业录取要求、日常学习的难易程度、考试出分情况以及学生选择数量等因素综合评估，参加香港DSE考试的考生一般会选择物理、化学、经济、生物、中国文学等常见的选修科目。

DSE课程考试采取“4+2”模式，即4门必修+2门选修，考6科，只用4-5科申请大学即可，且可区分文、理科方向，规避弱势学科，允许学生偏科。

DSE考试结果采取等级评分制，分别为1、2、3、4、5、5*、5**七个等级，一等级计作1分，5**等级则可以计7分，单科满分7分。

According to the comprehensive evaluation of factors such as the admission requirements of the university, the difficulty of daily study, the score of the examination and the number of students selected, DSE candidates will generally choose common elective subjects such as Physics, Chemistry, Economics, Biology and Chinese Literature.

DSE adopts the "4+2" mode which is 4 compulsory subjects and 2 elective courses. Students need to take 6 subjects, and only 4-5 subjects are required to apply for universities. There are two directions i.e. Liberal Arts and Science, which means that the students are allowed to avoid weak subjects and choose the preferable subjects.

DSE adopts the grade scoring system, and there are seven grades: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 5 * and 5 **. The grade 1 can be counted as 1 point, while the grade 5 ** can be counted as 7 points which is the full mark of this single subject.

评级由考评局负责，采用水平参照模式汇报制度，各个科目参照一套明确而固定的标准，汇报考生表现所属的等级
考生的表现以五个等级（1－5级）汇报，以第5级为最高。
在第5级考生中，当中约首10%成绩最优异的第5级考生可获5**级；成绩次佳的约30%可获5*级；其余的则评为 5 级
表现低于第1级的水平定为「不予评级」，并不会在证书上汇报。

For Category A subjects, the performance of candidates is categorised and released on a scale of seven levels indicated on the examination certificate. Level 5** being the highest and level 1 the lowest. Distinction levels 5** and 5* (read as "five-double-stars" and "five-star") are awarded to the two best-performing groups of candidates attaining level 5.[7] Unclassified Level (UNCL) are given in cases of absence, cheating, or an attempt not reaching the standards of level 1.

香港DSE考试的制度，其实并没有定义合格或者不合格，所以我们一般是以大学联招最低入学要求“3322”做参考，四个必修科目要求3322，即在语文及英文科获第3级或以上成绩为合格，而其他科目则以第 2 级或以上成绩为之合格。

据官方数据统计，在 2021 年的香港DSE考试中，物理、化学、经济、中国文学的合格率均超过85%，物理更高达90%以上；中国语文则为58.2%的合格率，数学为81.3%。而合格率最低的科目是「英国语文」，即英文科，所有考生中只有 52.5%达到3或以上。从报考比例来看，2021年，香港DSE考试中，报考物理、化学、生物、经济课程的考试比例均超过24%，为最多人选择的选修科目。

There is no saying of passing or failing DSE examination. Therefore, we take the minimum admission requirement of "3322" for joint university admission as reference. Student ‘passes’ the exam when he or she get grade 3 or above in Chinese language and English language subjects, and get grade 2 or above in other subjects.

According to official statistics of 2021 DSE, the passing rates of Physics, Chemistry, Economics and Chinese Literature were higher than 85%, with physics higher than 90%. At the same time, the passing rate of Chinese Language were 58.2% and mathematics were 81.3%. The subject with the lowest passing rate is "English Language" which was 52.5%.

In 2021, the proportion of applicants taking Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Economics subjects in DSE exceeded 24%, making them the most popular elective subjects.

因此对于已经步入高一（中四）的学生来说，如何进行合理的选科，以便未来能够考取较为优异的成绩就显得尤为重要了。

为此我校于12月8日为全体高一学生举行DSE课程选科的说明会，指导学生如何根据自身实际情况和未来专业、职业发展进行合适的学科选择。

It is particularly important for the G11 students to select appropriate subjects, so that they can get better grades in the future.

# 选科建议

选科的重要性 /The importance of selecting subjects

选修科目与升读大学课程有一定挂钩，修读相关科目的学生已有基础知识及能力；
Elective subjects are somehow related to university majors and students who take relevant subjects shall have basic knowledge of this selected subject.
部分课程优先考虑有修读指定选修科的学生。
Priority is given to students taking designated electives in some university majors.

最好的选修科？ /Are there any perfect elective subjects?

没有最好的，只有最适合的.
Only the subjects that match the students are the perfect ones.

选科要考虑的因素/Factors to be considered in selecting subjects.

个人兴趣，学科学术能力，升学目标、未来职业发展及价值观。
Personal interest, academic abilities, goal of further studies, future career development and values.

无论选什么选修科目也好，最终目的是考到高分。如果理科弱的同学为了满足大学要求而硬选理科，结果考出来的成绩非常不理想，最后很多大学也选不了。因此，无论选文科还是理科也好，重点是能不能考好，这是最重要的考虑。

No matter what elective subjects you choose, the ultimate goal is to get a high score.

If students who are weak in science choose science subjects in order to meet the requirements of universities, the results of the examination might be unsatisfactory, In the end, they may not be able to enroll in the great universities.

Therefore, whether you choose Liberal Arts or Science, the key point is whether you can do well in the exam.

香港高校选修科要求：

文科方向：无必修要求，中国文学等选科有额外计分比重

Requirements for elective courses in colleges and universities in Hong Kong:

Liberal Arts related majors: no compulsory requirements but priority will be given to students who choose Chinese Literature and performs well.

Financial Management: no compulsory requirements but priority will be given to students who choose Economics, Physics, Chemistry, etc. and performs well.

Science: Physics, Chemistry, Biology (one of which is required).

Engineering: Physics (required).

Medical direction: Physics, Chemistry, Biology (one of which is required).

Double degree in Science and Technology: Physics, Chemistry, Biology (one of which is required).

一般看四大主科成绩，对于选修什么课程无特别要求，但需选修科目成绩合格。

Requirements for elective courses in colleges and universities in Chinese mainland:

Core subjects are the most important and there are no specific requirements for elective subjects, but students are asked to pass every elective subject.

When students tend to enroll in the science and engineering, financial management majors, those who choose Physics, Chemistry, Biology and performs well will be given priority by the university. When students tend to enroll in the liberal art majors, those who choose Chinese Literature and performs well will be given priority by the universities.

特别说明：因为大学的录取名额均有限，为保证较大的升学竞争力，学生在保证四大主科成绩达到学校录取标准之外，需保证选科合格，甚至获取优异成绩，从而获得额外计分比重。此外，港籍生凭DSE成绩可回港应聘香港公务员。

FYI: because the admission quotas of universities are limited, students are asked to ensure that the results of the four major subjects meet the admission standards of the universities as well as keeping the elective subjects qualified so that they will have greater competitiveness of further studies. In addition, Hong Kong students can return to HK to apply for civil servants on the basis of their DSE scores.
