Discovering New Horizons:

Embark on AIC’s 2024 CAS Trips

At AIC, we believe that true learning extends beyond our classroom. Building on the success of our November 2023 trips to Qingyuan and Liannan, where we witnessed our students push their boundaries and truly flourish, we're thrilled to announce an enriching lineup of Creativity, Activity, and Service (CAS) trips for 2024. This year, we're offering exciting opportunities to explore Vietnam, Yangshuo, and Liannan, designed to challenge, inspire, and cultivate global citizens.

在AIC，我们相信教育不仅限于课堂之内。继2023年11月我们前往清远和连南的成功之旅，见证了我们的学生们挑战自我、茁壮成长之后，我们很高兴地宣布2024年创造、活动与服务（CAS）之旅的丰富行程。今年，AIC将提供前往越南、阳朔和连南的激动人心的机会，旨在挑战、激励和培养全球公民。

CAS trips are integral to our educational philosophy, focusing on experiential learning that encourages collaboration and creativity, enhances physical well-being, and nurtures a spirit of giving back to the community. These trips are not just about seeing new places; they are about transforming our students into well-rounded, thoughtful and reflective individuals who are prepared to contribute positively to our world.

On April 19, 2024, during our three-way conferences, we had the privilege of hosting a detailed presentation about these upcoming trips, featuring Alex Bycroft, the Education Experience Manager at The Learning Adventure. This session provided parents and students with a comprehensive overview and allowed for direct interaction and questions with our key travel partner.

A Cultural and Historical Tapestry

From the historic streets of Hanoi to the stunning landscapes of Halong Bay and Ninh Binh, our 8-day journey in Vietnam combines cultural immersion with adventure. Students will explore the rich history and vibrant culture through activities like visiting the B-52 Victory Museum, kayaking in Ha Long Bay, learning about wildlife conservation, and participating in a Vietnamese cooking class.

从河内的历史街道到下龙湾和宁平的壮丽景观，我们在越南的8天之旅将文化沉浸与冒险结合在一起。学生们将通过参观B-52胜利博物馆、在下龙湾划皮划艇、了解野生动物保护以及参加越南烹饪课等活动，探索这里丰富的历史和充满活力的文化。

Yangshuo 阳朔

Nature and Tradition

In the breathtaking setting of Yangshuo, students will engage with the local community and natural environment over 5 days. Highlights include cycling through picturesque rural landscapes, bamboo rafting on the Yulong River, assisting farmers with pomelo harvesting, and learning traditional Chinese arts such as fan painting and Kung Fu.

在自然风景令人叹为观止的阳朔，学生们将在5天的时间里与当地社区和自然环境进行互动。行程亮点包括骑行穿越如画的乡村风光、在遇龙河上竹筏漂流、帮助农民采摘柚子，以及学习中国传统艺术，如扇子画和功夫。

Liannan 连南

Ethnic Diversity and Heritage

This 5-day trip offers an in-depth look at the unique culture of the Yao ethnic group. The itinerary includes hiking expeditions, exploring the local life of the Yao people, farming with local villagers and engaging in cultural exchange activities that highlight the importance of preserving ethnic traditions.

为期5天的旅程为学生提供了深入了解瑶族独特文化的机会。行程包括徒步探险，探索瑶族人的当地生活，与当地村民一起耕作，以及参与强调保护民族传统重要性的文化交流活动。

Why These Trips Matter

Each destination was chosen not only for its beauty and cultural significance but also for its capacity to offer our students hands-on learning experiences that align with the CAS learning objectives. By interacting with different cultures and communities, students develop a broader perspective of the world, enhancing their ability to adapt and thrive in diverse environments.

These CAS trips also emphasize the importance of teamwork and leadership, as students are often placed in scenarios where collaboration is key to solving real-world problems. This fosters resilience, adaptability, and a sense of responsibility—qualities essential for personal and academic success.
