In order to provide secondary students with more language learning support and extra-curricular opportunities, the school has introduced a lunchtime Homework Club this academic year and arranged for the school's professional language support teachers to tutor students in the Homework Club. From Monday to Friday, during the 30-minute period from 12:10 to 12:40, students can go to the Homework Club after lunch to study on their own and seek help from the teachers present for any language problems related to their homework.

为了给中学学生提供更多语言学习上的支持以及课外的选择，本学年，学校还特别成立了午间“功课俱乐部”，并安排学校专业的语言支持教师在功课俱乐部上为学生提供辅导。周一至周五，每日中午12:10至12:40的30分钟时间，学生在用餐结束后均可自行前往功课俱乐部进行午自修，任何关于课业的语言问题，均能及时向在场的教师寻求帮助。

It is worth noting that the Homework Club is not a traditional "detention" in many local schools, but rather provides students with a wider range of opportunities for academic self-improvement. In addition to Homework Club, students can choose to participate in sports during lunchtime, go to the library to read, and join some clubs’ activities, such as band.

值得一提的是，功课俱乐部并非传统学校的“放学留堂补课”，而是为学生提供了更为丰富的自我学术提升的可选项，除了功课俱乐部以外，学生在午间休息时间，亦可选择参与体育锻炼，或前往图书馆进行阅读、查阅资料，还可参与社团排练如乐队练习、舞蹈排练等。

Language is the foundation before any advance academic pursuit. In the IB curriculum at ISASC, the PYP stage consists of six interdisciplinary Units of Inquiry; the MYP stage consists of five domains covering eight subjects, with an emphasis on cross-fertilisation and synthesis of knowledge; and the DP stage requires students to study six subjects and complete three core elements (including an extended essay of 4,000 words in English). The importance of English as the primary language of instruction (with the exception of Chinese) for IB students cannot therefore be overstated.

语言是任何进阶学术追求的基础。在爱莎科学城学校的IB教学中，PYP阶段以六个跨学科的探究单元贯穿，MYP阶段学习五大领域，涉及八大学科，注重学科领域的相互交叉渗透，强调知识的综合，而到了DP阶段，学生则需要学习六大学科领域并完成三门核心课程（包含一篇4000字左右的英文拓展性论文）。因此，英语作为一门最重要的教学语言（中文课除外），其对于IB学生的重要性不可言喻。

At the Secondary School, in addition to graded English classes the school also offers targeted English classes and classes related to English interests (e.g. English public speaking) to help students improve their English skills and ultimately develop the ability to "use English to learn".

在中学英语教学方面，除了根据学生英文水平进行分级教学，学校也为学生开设了针对性的英语指导、培优以及和英语兴趣相关（如英语演讲）等课后课，帮助学生提升英语水平，并最终获得“用英语去汲取知识”的能力。
