Please join us for ISA’s inaugural piano competition this Spring. This competition is organised by the ISA International Academy, with assistance from the UK Music Education Association. Finalists have the option to compete in the 2024 UK International Piano Competition. This competition is open to piano players from international schools, bilingual schools, public schools, music colleges, and piano training centres. The competition aims to promote music education and provide an international platform for piano players to showcase their talents and become an active member of the music community.

首届“爱莎杯”国际钢琴比赛”暨2024英国国际钢琴公开赛精英选拔赛由爱莎国际学苑和英国音乐教育协会共同主办。本次比赛面向全体国际学校、双语学校、公立学校、音乐院校、以及各大钢琴培训机构的钢琴艺术爱好者。本次比赛旨在推动青少年音乐普及教育，为学习钢琴的学生搭建一个展示自我风采和艺术交流的国际化平台。

The pianists awarded Gold and Silver medals in the Piano Competition will have the opportunity to participate in the 2024 UK International Piano Finals held in London in the summer of 2024, competing alongside other outstanding performers from other countries.

本次“爱莎杯”钢琴比赛晋级的选手，将获取参加2024年夏季于英国伦敦皇家音乐学院举行的2024英国国际钢琴公开赛国际总决赛的资格，与来自全球不同地区的晋级优秀选手同台竞技，收获最高演奏家荣誉。

The UK Intentional Piano Competition is a grand musical event organised by the British Music Education Association. The competition aims to provide an international platform for the development and promotion of piano music, while also encouraging and nurturing outstanding piano performers. （4）Refund Policy 退费政策

After the registration deadline, refunds will not be provided if the participant is unable to attend the competition due to personal reasons. Additionally, it is not permitted to transfer the competition registration to another individual for use.

The age of the participant is calculated on the day of 23 March 2024.

Repertoire Requirements 曲目要求：

· One piece of one's own choice：programme must not exceed 5 minutes.

· The selected repertoire must be from published pieces ranging from the Baroque to the 21st century, chosen from widely recognized piano teaching materials or piano repertoire books.

· 自选一首作品，节目时长不得超过5分钟。

· 所选曲目必须是巴洛克至21世纪时期已出版曲目，选自广泛认可的钢琴教材。

2）Young Artist Category (Advanced Category):  

Participants are able to perform two pieces from the repertoire requirements.

Group A: Under Age 11（born after March 24th, 2013）

Group B: Age 11-12（born between March 24th, 2011 - March 23rd, 2013）

Group C : Age 13-14（born between March 24th, 2009 - March 23rd, 2011）

Group D: Age 15-16 （born between March 24th, 2007 - March 23rd, 2009）

Group E: Age 17-18 (born between March 24th, 2005 - March 23rd, 2007)

Group F: Age 19+ (born before March 23rd, 2005)

Repertoire Requirements 曲目要求:

Choose 2 pieces from the below list. Pieces selected must be different. Programme must not exceed 13 minutes. 

· A piece by J.S. Bach

· One movement of a classical sonata

· An etude/A concert etude

· A piece from the Romantic period or later

· The selected repertoire must be from published pieces ranging from the Baroque to the 21st century, chosen from widely recognized piano teaching materials or piano repertoire books.

（1） The contestants who win the Gold and Silver Medals will qualify to join the Finals of the UK International Piano Competition in London in August 2024. Although qualified, expenses related to participation in the UK finals are the responsibility of the Gold & Silver Medal winners and families. Participation in the UK International finals is not required.

本次获得金奖与银奖的选手将有资格参与英国伦敦国际钢琴公开赛国际总决赛。总决赛将于2024年8月于英国皇家音乐学院专业音乐厅举行。涉及总决赛的费用需要选手自行承担。选手将自行决定是否参加英国总决赛。

（2） Gold, Silver,  and Bronze Medal participants will receive a trophy and a certificate.

金奖和银奖和铜将参赛者将获得奖杯以及获奖证书。

（3） Participation Award: All participants will receive a participation certificate.

荣誉奖: 所有参赛选手将获得荣誉证书。

Instructor Honors 指导老师荣誉：

- Instructors will receive the Outstanding Piano Instructor Certificate if their students receive a Gold , Silver or Bronze Medal.

学生获取金奖、银奖、铜奖的指导老师将获得优秀指导老师证书。

Organization Honors 机构荣誉：

● a certificate for Outstanding Piano Organisation.

● 优秀组织机构将授予证书。

· There is no minimum performance time required. The length of the piece should not exceed the allotted time as stated in the repertoire requirements above.

· The repertoire chosen must be a published work from the Baroque to 21st century periods.

· Only one piece is accepted for the Open Category. A single movement from a set work e.g. Sonata, Concerto, or Suite, is considered as one piece. The piece must be performed in its entirety, with no parts omitted. Any work that is not performed in its entirety will result in disqualification regardless of the quality of performance.

· Repeats are at the discretion of the participant, but all da capo and dal segno instructions should be observed.

· Performances from memory are encouraged but remain optional. No additional marks will be awarded for memorisation of the piece.  

· 没有最低表演时间要求。曲目长度不得超过曲目要求规定的时间。

· 所选曲目必须是巴洛克至21世纪时期已出版的作品。

· 公开组只接受一首作品。一组作品中的单个乐章，例如奏鸣曲、协奏曲或组曲，被视为一个作品。该作品必须完整演奏，不得遗漏任何部分。任何未完整演奏的曲目都将导致取消资格，无论表现质量如何。

· 反复次数由参赛者自行决定，但应遵守所有 da capo（D.C.） 和 dal segno (D.S.)说明。

鼓励凭记忆(背谱)进行表演，但仍然可选择看谱。背谱不会授予额外分数。

The judging panel for this competition consists of professors and outstanding pianists from renowned music institutions worldwide. Each member of the panel has extensive experience in piano teaching and judging competitions. The list of judges will be announced on the WeChat official account of the ISA International Academy in February. Please stay tuned for further updates.

Pitch Accuracy: Correctly grasp and perform the musical notes on the score

音符准确度: 正确把握并演奏乐谱上的音符

Rhythm: Smooth, effortless handling of beats, fully expressing the sense of rhythm

Tone Quality: A complete understanding of the dynamics and articulation of the piece

Phrasing: Processing phrases with appropriate musical contour and details

Expressiveness: Confident, fully engaged emotionally, clear and vivid expression of the characteristics and style of the music

Musical Communication: Consistently fully expressed and engaged, demonstrating strong emotional commitment and persuasive power, impressive structure and pace of the selected repertoire, always maintaining a good sense of performance perception and control

Interpretation: Consistently effectively portraying stylistic characteristics, meeting the requirements of the repertoire's interpretation, always maintaining a good sense of texture and overall perception and control, with effective integration and balance

Completion: Consistently maintaining confidence and control, successfully fulfilling the technical requirements of the repertoire. Always effectively managing the instrument, fully responding to the performance situations.

1. There is no restriction on the nationality of the contestants.

2. All participants will conduct competitions on-site. Online participation is NOT available.

3. The detailed arrangement of the competition day will be distributed on March 15th, 2024.

4. All contestants are required to have appropriate attire. Our competition defines appropriate as ‘clean and tidy’. Attire and make-up should be arranged by the contestants. ISA is not able to provide assistance with make-up and clothing. 

5. If needed, contestants need to arrange personal assistants to assist in turning the scores.

6. The competition results will be announced through the ISA International Academy WeChat Account by March 29th, 2024. The award ceremony for the winners and arrangements for the UK Final competition will be communicated with students and parents during the first week of April.

7. The sponsor has the right to photograph, record, video, and media broadcast all concerts and related activities related to the competition. It also has the copyright to print and produce brochures and promotional materials for the competition; Contestants will not be paid for their likeness being utilized in promotional materials. After completing the registration form, contestants agree to the above terms.

8. The competition review committee has the final decision regarding the results.

9. The registration fee only covers entrance/participation in the competition and does not include other expenses such as transportation, food, and lodging of the contestants.

10. During the competition, those who can no longer participate due to personal reasons will not be refunded the registration fee. The organising committee has the right to cancel, postpone, and to refuse to refund contestants for the competition if the competition is cancelled due to unforeseen reasons (epidemic prevention, typhoons, earthquakes, fires, etc.). The relevant losses and consequences shall be borne by the participants and the organising committee shall not bear any financial responsibility.

11. Participants and legal guardians are deemed to have understood the relevant content of the participant's instructions at the same time as they register and agree to accept relevant constraints and assume relevant obligations and responsibilities.

3. 详细的交通、停车、用餐等比赛日的指引和安排将于2024年3月15日统一邮件发送通知。

4. 所有选手要求服装整洁，台风大方，演出服及化妆请选手自行安排。

5. 如需要翻谱人员，选手需要自行安排。

6. 赛事成绩将于2024年3月29日前于爱莎国际学苑公众号统一公布。颁奖典礼及英国伦敦总决赛的安排将有专人于4月第1周与家长和学生跟进沟通。

7.  主办方拥有比赛相关所有音乐会及相关活动的摄影、录音、录像、媒体播报权力;以及 印刷和制作比赛的介绍册、宣传品的版权;并可以在比赛结束后延续与比赛相关内容的宣传、 推广且不会向选手另外支付报酬，选手填写报名表后即表示同意以上条款。 

8. 比赛评审委员会对各轮比赛的评选结果拥有最终裁决权。

9. 报名费仅作参赛者的比赛使用，不含选手交通、食宿等其他费用。

10. 比赛期间，因个人原因不能正常参加比赛者，报名费不予退还。如因不可归责原因如防疫、台风、地震、火灾、政治等不可抗因素，致使选手不能按正常计划继续比赛，组委会有权根据当时的实际情况做适当的应急处理，由此产生的相关损失和后果由选手自行承担，组委会不承担任何责任。

11. 选手及法定监护人在报名同时即被视为了解选手须知相关内容，并同意接受有关约束、 承担有关义务和责任。
