Firstly, we do hope all our families have had a safe and enjoyable summer break.

美好的暑期已接近尾声，新的学年即将如约而至，学校希望所有孩子都与家人们度过了一个美好且愉快的假期。

As you commence preparations for your child/ren to start the 2021/2022 academic year we welcome both our founding families back and look forward to our new families becoming part of our school community. We achieved a great deal together in our founding year and look forward to building on these positive partnerships over the coming 12 months.

当作为家长的您为孩子的新学年做准备时，学校也万分期待我们的创校学生返校，同时也对新加入爱莎科学城校园社区的新家庭表示欢迎。过去的一年中，我们见证了通过共同努力取得的成功，也期待即将到来的新学年中与家长建立更紧密的教育“合作”关系。

Returning to school can be a time when children feel mixed emotions, both excitement and apprehension.  The conversations we have as parents to support that transition can make all the difference. Creating time when your child is relaxed and open to sharing their thoughts and feelings with you can allow opportunity to listen to them deeply, discuss strategies, problem solve any potential issues they are worried about and share in their excitement.

开学之际重返校园的孩子们在情绪上可能会展现较为复杂多元的一面：他们可能会感到喜忧参半，表现得既兴奋又有忧虑。在面对这个过渡阶段的孩子时，家长与孩子的沟通方式和内容对于支持孩子顺利从“暑假频道”调回“学校频道”具有重要意义。当您的孩子放松且愿意与您分享他的想法和感受时，我们便有了深入倾听孩子想法的机会，与他们共同探讨解决问题的策略，感受他们的兴奋。

Making sure they are prepared with the correct uniform, stationery, and other necessities well in advance of their first day back, Monday 30 August, will help enormously with easing nerves.

作为家长，帮助并确保孩子在返校第一天（8月30日，周一）按照学校要求穿戴合身的制服，带齐文具和其它必备品，有助于缓解孩子紧张的情绪。

The Primary Family Orientation on 26 August also helped settle nerves by providing some certainty. Your child/ren got an opportunity to see their classroom, meet their teacher/teaching assistant and engage with other primary school staff.  They have received important information such as class expectations, learning throughout the year, routines and the class timetable.  They have also meet their classmates.

学校于8月26日举办的小学家庭迎新会帮助了学生更好地过渡至开学后的校园生活。活动当天，您的孩子进入未来的教室，与他们的主班老师、助教以及其它小学工作人员接触交流，了解班级目标、全年学习规划、课程表等等，同时还见到了即将朝夕相处的同学们，这有助于缓解新生不安的情绪。

If you have any questions or concerns about the upcoming year, please contact the Primary Office.  We are here to support your child/ren’s transition and set them up for a successful year.
