Embracing Change: Online Learning at ISASC 拥抱变化 | 悦享“云”课堂

A true identity of a school is not only evident when things are great. More importantly, the qualities of a school and the strength of its’ community is best shown during a time of challenge. The students, parents and staff of ISA Science City have done an exceptional job this past week, as we rapidly adjusted to online teaching and learning.

一所学校在顺境中表现出来的特质无法代表它的全部特质,因为其真正特质,尤其是学校的品质和校园社区的力量,往往在面临挑战的逆境中最能体现。过去的一周,学校自建校起首次将实时课堂搬上“云端”,虽然疫情来势汹汹,但学校早已提前做足准备,让高质量的教学随时随地都能进行。无论是学生、家长还是员工,均以饱满的精神状态,出色地应对了第一周的网课,并迅速适应了这种在线教学模式。



Online Learning at ISASC 


At ISASC, we utilise Microsoft Teams for the conference calling, strengthened by Schoolbox, which is our learning management system. At our school, these are mature technology tools that students have been comfortable using for some time. The change from the classroom to online has been smooth as a result of these strong systems and the comfort of our school community in using these systems. 

在爱莎科学城学校,我们利用Microsoft Teams进行视频通讯教学,并通过Schoolbox(校园学习管理系统)进行学习成果的巩固。这些线上平台在学校早已是融入日常且成熟的教学工具,学校日常的线下教学也会利用这些线上资源辅助学生更高效地利用资源进行学习。这些完善的软件和平台可以说是与学生、老师和家长“朝夕相处”的好搭档,因此在面对此次突如其来的教学模式变化中,学校师生从线下向线上的过渡得非常顺利。



Online learning does have a number of advantages. It allows differentiated learning to take place, as well as strong data to be collected. For parents, they can access the teaching and learning through Schoolbox, allowing greater transparency in what is happening in the classroom.

不得不说,在线学习确实有其优势所在,例如,在进行差异化教学和收集数据方面,它都有着不可忽视的强大功能。对于家长来说,他们可以通过Schoolbox访问老师进行教学以及孩子的学习情况,这使得课堂上发生的事情更加透明。



To assist families, the school hand-delivered iPads to EY and Primary families. This genuine commitment to every child is something that our parents have greatly appreciated.

为了帮助家庭,学校员工亲自向幼儿园和小学家庭送去了iPad (在爱莎科学城学校,幼儿园和小学均使用iPad进行辅助性教学,由学校统一保管)。在这一特别的困难时期,学校这样做体现了对每一位学生认真负责的态度,也得到了许多家长的肯定与赞赏。



In the Early Years and Primary School, classes have been adapted to include screen time, with teachers assigning tasks to students and trying new elements to make them more interactive. ‘I am so impressed that my boy was highly focused and engaged in online learning with this balanced time planning structure,’ said a parent from EY3. We are thrilled to find that students are highly engaged in the online lesson and embrace the change positively. 

在幼教部和小学,课表已根据线上教学情况进行了调整,教师向学生分配任务,并尝试新的线上教学工具,使教学更具互动性。一位EY3的家长向学校分享:“在这种平衡的课程时间安排下,我的孩子能够全程高度集中地参与线上学习,这令我印象非常深刻”。学生迅速适应并能够积极参与线上课堂,无疑是学校从家长口中得到的最佳反馈。




The students are incredibly proud to wear their school uniforms, and many of them participated in the online class in full uniforms. A parent shared with us, "My daughter told me she needed to wear her school uniform since she was attending classes, even online.”

学校一直来对校服穿着规范的严格要求,也促成了此次线上教学一道靓丽的风景线。我们发现,绝大部分学生都规范穿着了全套校服上网课,且引以为傲。一位家长与学校分享:“我女儿告诉我,即便是上网课也一定要穿好校服,因为这是在上学”。



Teachers and students in Secondary School are already accustomed to integrating virtual platforms such as Schoolbox into their daily teaching and learning. This made the transition to online learning much easier. In Secondary School, online learning follows the in-school schedule and daily school expectations.

中学的老师和学生早已习惯于将Schoolbox这样的线上平台上的资源整合到他们的日常教学中,因此在面对突如其来的网课教学显得更加从容。与幼儿园和小学不同,中学学生的网课时间表以及学习要求完全与他们的线下课程表与学习要求保持一致。

There will always be change, so our children should be taught to embrace it. Students' commitment to change and courage to embrace it as well as staff's collaboration and willingness to serve others are true representations of ISASC's core values.

变化是时刻存在的,我们更应该去引导孩子去拥抱变化。学生在接受与适应变化的过程中体现出来的勇气,以及全体教职员工的合作与服务精神,都真正体现出爱莎科学城学校的核心价值观。
